Around the yard in winter, and Apple Orange Coffecake

Icy snow curls off the shed roof

Looking down our road

Wild turkey tracks, like sewing machine stitches

And now, as the dudes in the house watch the Superbowl, I am baking an Apple Orange Coffeecake, which smells just amazing. Here is the recipe:

and...I just took it out of the oven, and popped it out of the springform pan. It smells wonderful! We shall dig in shortly!

To my dear old friends

I really like those friendships where you touch into one another's lives at random parts of your life...and immediately feel connected...then can lose touch again, but that's okay, because you know you're there for one another, no matter what happens.

I like knowing that we have a history; we have memories; we have a common bond; that we are kindred spirits in certain ways.

It makes me feel grounded. And loved. And happy TO love.
