Family Day
I'm spending Family Day doing the following:
Reading, watching Ladies' curling (the Scottie Tournament), and crocheting (a baby cap)... in front of a cozy fire (the perfect antidote to a cold winter day with a cutting northwest wind).
Definitely a relaxing day.

Happy Belated Family Day! Baby cap for whom?!? Also, I've read two of those three books. Good choices! -Leah
Hi Leah! The baby cap was meant for a coworker who is having a baby in April. But the pattern wasn't working for me, and I couldn't find another pattern I liked (maybe the problem is with my crocheting skills?!), so I gave up on that idea. I love crocheting, though, so I will continue my hunt for a good pattern. Do you crochet? Do you have a baby cap pattern you'd recommend?
As for the books - I'm guessing that one of the two you've read is The 100-Mile Diet (which was written right in your backyard!). Am I right? I'm deep into Garbo Laughs right now; I love Elizabeth Hay. This is the second book of hers I've read which is set in Ottawa. I love knowing EXACTLY the setting being referred to in the story.
Nope! The one I haven't read is The 100 Mile Diet. And, actually, I haven't read the Hay book either -- I thought it might be A Student of Weather which it sounds like you've read. I love the way she describes NYC in that book. I've also read Late Nights on Air. Five Quarters of the Orange was enjoyable too, although I read it while in the throes of morning sickness and some of the descriptions of food made me ill. Nice talking to you!
